YU YUPHORIA is the next joint venture of MICROMAX and YU .  It is one of the phones which is handy, well made ,good looking and with a good  update capability. It has a 720p HD  5 inch display .  It has a Snapdragon 410 processor and a hefty 2GB of RAM. The biggest plus point of this device is the CYANOGEN OS which allows you to customize your phone such that it will feels new every other day.  It sports  a  8MP rear and 5MP front camera with decent picture taking capability. It stands first on the list because of the Cyanogen OS which allows you a rooted device in hand to flash its firmwarenightlies without waiting for the update.

 

2. ASUS Zenfone 5 (Rs.9999) Via FLIPKART

This is one of the phone to make a silent entry into the Indian market but has done very well in the  sales . It has a INTEL ATOM processor with  2GB of RAM . It has a 16GB of inbuilt storage . It has  ASUS’s custom skin in its software. It is snappy and can handle all the tasks you throw at it with ease. It has swapable back panels to give a new look to the phone . It has a 5 inch HD display and a  good battery life. However it is a large device with large bezels which makes one handed usage  difficult. The built quality it provides is great.

 

3. MOTOROLA MOTO G (2ND GEN) (RS.9999) Via FLIPKART

Motorola launched the MOTO G2 for a cost of Rs.12999 initialy but as the launch of next gen  MOTO G nears its launch they have brought down the cost to Rs.9999. It sports a decent performing Snapdragon 400 a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor with a 1GB ram and 16 GB on board storage and expandable storage. The reason to buy this phone is the stock android experience it  provides and you get the latest update from google sooner than ever. The built is awesome with a nice 720p HD screen. It has android 5.0.2 built in. However the battery life is not that great.

 

4. Android ONE (provided by MICROMAX)(Rs.5000 approx.) Via AMAZON

This is the device which google discussed in its I/O last year. It has not been a peoples’ favorite after its  launch but yet is a deserving device. Its brand name is the cause of its unpopularity .This device has a Mediatek 1.3 ghz quadcore CPU with 1GB of RAM. Its speciality  is the faster updates from google. It is second on googles preference list of updates after googles own nexus line. It is a decent performer however the 4GB internal storage is the only drawback for app hungry users.

5 . XIAOMI REDMI NOTE 4G(Rs.7999) VIA FLIPKART & AMAZON

Redmi note 4G is as device for people loving huge displays and have a lot of media consumption. The 5.5 inch 720p display makes sure you enjoy your movies. It has a snapdragon 400 processor, a 1.6   GHZ quad core chipset beneath it for snappy multitasking  . The  2GB RAM takes care of everything you throw at it with ease . It has a 8 GB onboard storage with a micro SD expansion slot upto 64 GB. Primary camera is a 16MP sensor and a 5MP camera is upfront  with very good photo capturing capability. The most prominent problem with the device is that the apps can’t be transferred  to the SD card. It is upgradable to the latest MIUI 6 . It has android 4.4.2 kitkat built in.

 

6. LENOVO A7000 (Rs.8999) VIA FLIPKART

Lenovo hasn’t yet made a mark as expected in the smartphone sector but this device is worth  noticing. It has a good build quality with a 5.5 inch 720 p display and a 1.5 GHz MEIDATEK (octa core CPU) chipset inside . 2GB DDR3 RAM takes care of the heavy games and apps giving you the fluidic experience. There is 8 GB of internal storage and a expansion slot upto 32 GB. It  has 8 MP rear and 5MP front camera. The custom skin of the phone is not one which you will like as the colors are too vibrant and the icons are not that appealing.  The noticeable thing is it runs on the latest version of android that is 5.0.2 lollipop (5.1.1 expected soon).

 

7. HONOR 4C (Rs.8099) Via FLIPKART

HUAWEI launched this product in the Indian market recently . The most appealing thing about this device is  the look , it looks gorgeous and rich.  When in sleep mode it looks as if the device has a edge to edge display. It has 8GB internal storage and a whooping 2 GB RAM. The in house hisilicon kirin 620 chipset is the processing unit. HUAWEI’s custom skin gives a iOS like experience. However sadly the device is still at 4.4.2 kitkat and there is no word from huawei over the future updates.

8 . Xiaomi Redmi 2 (Rs. 5999) Via FLIPKART

Redmi 2 is one of the decent looking phones with Xiaomi’s MIUI over it. It is one of the snappiest custom android builds in the market with timely updates and bug fixes . It has a Snapdragon 410 chipset with 1 GB  of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage but sadly the apps cannot be moved to the SD card . It has expandable storage via micro SD card upto 32 GB. Has  a 4.7 inch 720p HD screen. With 8 PM rear and 2 MP front camera it provides average photography experience . How ever the touch capacitive buttons it has are not backlit and thus you are on your own for navigation in dark.
