Initial Impressions

Oneplus 3 is the third iteration of flagship killer phone by oneplus which is a proper balance between compromise and functionality. This time, oneplus moved away from its sandstone design and opted for full metal unibody design. The back panel is non-removable so the style swap covers are no longer available. Instead are available as cases for the phone. Oneplus 3 is a well-designed phone overall except for that camera bump on the back. The camera bump could be eliminated by opting for the larger battery like oneplus 2 but oneplus went the conventional way slimming the phone.

On the front OnePlus 3 has a Gorilla Glass 4, with fingerprint scanner-come-home-button below the display and the navigation keys on its either sides. The bottom of the phone houses the USB Type-C port which sits adjacent to the single speaker and the headphone jack. The power button and dual sim tray are on the right side and the volume keys and activity slider are on the left.

Oneplus went with an AMOLED display for Oneplus 3. Oneplus is calling it Optic AMOLED but is really a super AMOLED panel from Samsung. Oneplus is struck with a Full HD panel which still performs well. The only area it will be lacking will be in VR experience.

Oneplus is well known to provide flagship specs for an affordable price point, this time, it’s no different story. Oneplus 3 is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor coupled with an Adreno 530 GPU and 64GB of non-expandable storage with a whopping 6GB of RAM. Overall, the hardware inside the OnePlus 3 is certainly premium with NFC making a return in oneplus 3.
