Lifesense Smartwatch Review: Efficient Device with robustness

Smartwatch market is slowly growing and there are many players already bringing up their best of the technology to provide users with a comfortable consumer experience. There are already many smart watches out there and it makes it very difficult for a new entrant to make a space for himself and one of such entrant is Lifesense by Lcare India. The Lcare company has launched its Smartwatch In India recently with Amazon under its Startup Launchpad. The Lifesense Smartwatch was sent to us for review and without wasting any more time lets get into the review.

Lifesense Smartwatch: Design

OLED Smart Display

The Design of the Lifesense smartwatch is unique with the front having big and bright OLED Display. The strap of the bands does not look as premium as the watch’s main body looks. The bottom of the watch there’s the Dynamic Heart rate Monitor, which emits a green laser from the watch continuously. The laser helps in getting heart rate data accurately and it is something which is unique in the Lifesense smartwatch which we have not seen in any of the smartwatches yet. Both the strap on the watch is removable and serve a purpose of being removable. The one end of the smartwatch is used for charging purpose whereas the other end has the serial number of the product to assist you in setting up the watch in the application. There is USB charging available so you don’t have to carry extra cables along with you to charge the device. The smartwatch’s display is great and I really liked about the display’s brightness and it was comfortable to see time in the bright sunny day. The Lifesense smartwatch is even IP68 Water proof.

Lifesense Smartwatch: Activity, Heart, and Sleep tracking

The Lifesense Smartwatch tracking is somewhere between apps such as Google Fit and Moves and trackers with real sensors such as heart rate monitors. The Band calculated the Number of steps walked and estimated calories burned and also it monitors the time used to complete the walked steps ie. it shows how much time was used while walking or running. Some errors do occur and you may notice while using the band that some steps are recorded extra or may be you were not walking but steps are shown in the device. But that’s normal with these smart watch as they have a pedometer which counts steps so when you make some hand action so ‘sometime’ those actions are counted as steps.

Sleep tracking on the device is pretty accurate and it assists you well in terms of knowing about the quality sleep you have taken and A good sleep is important to the beginning of the day Night, Lifesense watch can automatically track your sleep time, by drawing sleep trends chart, identify your sleep quality. Every morning, wake you up by shaking and celebrate your day.The Lifesense smartwatch uses Bluetooth to connect with the band but if you don’t need any notification alerts like call alerts, Messages, Whatsapp etc then you can wear the band without connecting it to the phone and synchronise once a day with the Android and IOS app to keep the Activity data on the phone and you can access it whenever you want it.

The Heart Rate sensor  With PowerPulse technology enables you to continuously heart rate tracking which can help understand your body better, get better calorie burned and all pictures of your health status. The accuracy of the heart rate sensor is somewhat doubtful because at times when the band was not on the wrist Heart beats were shown which is surprising and amusing at the same time.

Lifesense Smartwatch: Features

One of the noticeable features which most smartwatches fail to offer is The display turns on automatically when you at the watch so you don’t have to touch the screen to just know the time. The Lifesense smartwatch is not only a fitness related band but a smart band so it comes with Non-fitness related features like you get notified when there’s a call or text message. The call can be even disconnected from the watch itself by just sliding the disconnect button. This disconnect function is very useful at times when you are not able to attend the call. The thing which I missed in this watch is getting notified for other applications like WhatsApp and Facebook which many of the smartwatches are able to provide but unfortunately, it’s not present on the Lifesense Smartwatch and may be a software update in the future can bring the functionality. The Smartwatch can be used as an alarm as well and you can set multiple alarms in the applications and the watch will vibrate to wake you up at the time you set in the watch.

Lifesense Smartwatch: Charging and Battery Life.

The watch can be charged through any standard USB charging port and does not require any proprietary charging cable to charge the device. Charging the watch from 10% to 100% takes around 1 hour and The watch lasts about 1 weeks on a single charge which is pretty amazing with a display which is big and bright.

Lifesense Smartwatch: Pricing and Availability

The lifesense smartwatch is available as Amazon Exclusive and is being Priced at Rs.5000/- Which is just the right price for the watch with a Great display and heart rate sensor. The watch is available to buy throughout the country through Amazon only.

Summary

The Lifesense Smartwatch is far from perfect but with a lot of the niggles we encountered, it’s INR.5000. That means it’s well worth a punt if you’re not sure about fitness trackers or about wearables in general. Just remember to check your activity timeline to make sure smart-band is not gifting you hundreds of steps and the smartwatch could be a great fitness tool. A beginner tracker for anyone not sure they are ready to take the plunge with a Fitbit or Jawbone.
