Xiaomi , the chinesse tech giant recently revealed the successor of its note series named Redmi Note 3. This phone is all you need, a low budget full fledged device with sufficient specs and a sleek and rich look. It would be a strong contender to the likes of ONE PLUS 2, ONE PLUS X, MOTO X PLAY etc. Lets have a look on what this device has to offer us.
BUILT:
It has a full metallic back with overall dimension of 150 x 76 x 8.7 mm. It weighs at around 164gms giving it a little bit of heft. The device looks rick and for such a big phone the body to width ratio is quite high.
DISPLAY:
It houses a 5.5 inch IPS LCD panel upfront. It is a 1080 p full HD display accounting to overall pixel density of 401ppi. Its not yet confirmed if the device has a gorilla glass protection.
PROCESSOR AND STORAGE:
Mediatek has been gaining importance lately in the smartphone market with the HTC flagship devices opting for them. Similarly Xiaomi also opted for mediatek MT6795 helio X10 processor in their device. It is an octacore 64-bit chipset and would suffice to the needs quite easily. The powerVR G6200 GPU is present underneath. The device is launched in two variants, 1st is with 16 GB storage and 2GB RAM while the 2nd is with 32 GB storage and 3GB of RAM.
SOFTWARE:
Device works on android 5.1.1 lollipop with xiaomi’s own MIUI 7.0 over it. MIUI has been quite a performer and will continue it. Xiaomi is fast at providing updates and bug fixes so Marshmallow mustn’t be far.
FINGER-PRINT SCANNER:
It is the 1st device from xiaomi with a finger print scanner. It is the only device after coolpad note providing a finger print scanner at this price range. As per the company this scanner can unlock the devicr within a second or less. The availibility of NFC hasn’t yet been known hence the compatibility of device for android pay is ambiguous.
CAMERA:
The device houses a 13 MP rear camera with face-deection auto focus and a dual tone led flash. It has 5 MP front camera. Both the cameras are capable of 1080p video recording at 30fps.
BATTERY LIFE:
A 4000 mAh Li-Po battery provides juice to the device and must suffuce a average to heavy user quite easily as it has to power a HD display instad of a 2k display as in recent flagships. It has fast-charging capabilities as well.
PRICE:
The 16GB variant is for CNY 899(Approx Rs.9500) while the 32GB variant would be for CNY 1099 (approx. Rs.115000). The launch date in India as well as the pricing is not yet known. The device will be available in Gold, Silver and Dark Grey variant.
