The new Asus ZenFone 3 have a glass back which gives definitely a premium look to the device. On the back, the camera and fingerprint module are situated which are placed at a place which is easily accessible when you hold the device. We had no problem unlocking the device from fingerprint module. The sides of the phone have curved edge which is really great. The glass back and finish overall look great but the device feels a bit slippery which makes it prone to damages as well. Better have a hard case or at least a simple case to just make it less slippery. The only flaw in the design. On the front, there are touch capacitive buttons which are not backlit.
Performance
The device is powered by Snapdragon 625 SoC which performs really great. Although it is a predecessor to 652 but the performance is unbeatable on the device and best of all is, the phone doesn’t get heated being pushed to maximum usage. The ram management on the ZenFone 3 is really amazing. We found no lag or even a delay in the performance during our review of the device. The camera performance of the device is pure bliss. The secondary camera (16 MP) has a manual mode which is equivalent to DSLR. It allows setting manual exposure, ISO, white balance, and Focus as well. If you are looking for a phone to buy for great Selfie then look no further as ZenFone 3 has a great front cam as well which is descent in taking Selfie. There are many modes available for every setting like HDR, Scene, time lapse, panorama, Selfie panorama, and much more. Secondary camera has the 3-axis Electronic Image Stabilization for shake-free videos, which would prevent videos from being shaky. The Speakers grill on the bottom is the main highlight. The speaker is able to produce amazing sound with no distortion even at full volume. Also, if you are unable to listen on full volume then the outdoor mode is just right for which increases the sound above full volume.
Battery
One of the most important factors when buying a phone is good battery backup and Asus ZenFone3 has taken care of that well. The phone is powered by a 3000mAh no removable battery. Going by the capacity of the battery it’s enough to last about a day. When we tested the device, it was able to survive a day with maximum usage and still some juice left. The Asus ZenFone UI is optimized to save battery when the phone is in sleep mode. The usage included few calls, browsing (4G), music and Gaming for about an hour.
