Recently Asus sent us a Review variant of Zenfone 4 Selfie and here’s My take on the phone.
Design
The Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie has the best design with a refreshed look from what Asus used to offer previously. The phone is extremely lightweight and is pure pleasure when you hold it. The Back looks gorgeous and has a 16MP Rear camera with LED Flash and the camera has a well-matching design with the finish of back. I had the gold variant and this happens very rarely that I like gold variant but this device changed it completely as the Colour and pattern of the device is just amazing. The antenna bands are beautifully positioned on the Top and bottom. Antenna bands add to the beauty of the phone. The Asus has branded itself well on the phone with a 3D type Logo on the Rear. I really Liked the Logo which looks embossed but it is not. The Camera bump on the back is noticeable and it is a thing which you need to worry about as it as the Camera lens can get an easy crack but you can cover it up using a case available in the market. The bottom has Speaker Grill and Micro USB charging port. Luckily the phone does have a 3.5MM Headphone jack which gives great output. The phone has 5.5 FHD display with Dual Selfie Cameras on the top along with Proximity Sensor. The phone has 3 touch capacitive buttons at the bottom. The Middle button looks like an actual pressable button but it is actually not and it doubles up as a Fingerprint scanner which does its job well. Overall the Design of the Phone is a strong point in favor of this device and I have no complaints in the Design part of the phone.
Performance
The Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie comes with a Snapdragon 430 Processor which is capable of handling some mild tasks and Games. The processor is although an Octa-Core but it is not able to handle high-end games properly and eats up the battery too quickly. The phone takes a humongous time of 2.5 hours to charge from 10% to 100% which I feel should be reduced through Software updates because the charging time is really irritating sometimes when you need the phone in emergency situations. The Display is amazing and it is a pure bliss to watch and play on this device. The display is able to render vivid colors perfectly. Multitasking is not a problem on the device, the phone is able to handle complex tasks easily and shows no signs of lag or slowness. The device is really snappy. The camera performance of the device is pure bliss. The secondary camera (16 MP) has a manual mode which is equivalent to DSLR. It allows setting manual exposure, ISO, white balance, and Focus as well. If you are looking for a phone to buy for great Selfie then look no further as ZenFone 4 has a great front cam as well which is Great for taking Selfie. The Dual Camera helps in taking Great Photos in the Low light as it has Selfie Flash which is just so awesome that phone makes you a Selfie Lover. The Dual camera also helps in taking better portrait photos. There are many modes available for every setting like HDR, Scene, time lapse, panorama, Selfie panorama, and much more. The Speakers grill on the bottom is the main highlight. The speaker is able to produce amazing sound with no distortion even at full volume. Also, if you are unable to listen on full volume then the outdoor mode is just right for which increases the sound above full volume.
Battery
One of the most critical factors when buying a phone is good battery backup and Asus ZenFone 4 Selfie has taken care of that well. The phone is powered by a 3000mAh no removable battery. Going by the capacity of the battery it’s enough to last about a day. When we tested the device, it was able to survive a day with maximum usage and still some juice left. The Asus ZenFone UI is optimized to save battery when the phone is in sleep mode. The usage included few calls, browsing (4G), music and Gaming for about an hour.
Network And Call Quality
The Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie has 4G VoLTE Support and it supports Jio Sim perfectly and The call quality on the phone is just Amazing and We faced some minor Call drops on the phone. The phone receives the network well and I did not have any problems with the Dual Sims on the phone. The Phone’s dialer has some extra options which you can use to Record calls and do other kinds of stuff.
