Gionee S6 PRO Review: Amazing Selfie And Long Battery Standby

The Smartphone market is overcrowded these days where new phone launches every day and it becomes very difficult for the consumer to differentiate between phones be it features or specification. Almost all phones offer the same thing at the price range they compete for, but Today we are reviewing Gionee S6 Pro which has great performance, A great Selfie Camera, and long-lasting battery all in one. We have been using this device for nearly about a month for its performance and here’s what we experienced.

Gionee S6 Pro Design

The Gionee S6 Pro features an all metal uni-design body. The Gionee Logo is at the Back just below the Camera module. The Camera is powered by single tone led flash. There’s an active noise cancellation microphone at the back, just above the camera module. On the top, there’s a 3.5mm Audio out port, below you would find the speakers grills but only one works out of the two. The remaining one is given for symmetry purpose. The phone is powered by a USB – C port which is present between the two speaker grills. On the right, the Gionee S6 Pro features the volume rockers and Lock/Power button and on the Left Sim tray slot is present. The fingerprint scanner is present on the front side which is very easily accessible and easy to use. The fingerprint scanner doubles up as Home button. The camera and proximity sensors have been designed in symmetry, they look exactly same in shape and size. The Earpiece is present on the front, between the proximity and camera. The phone features a 13.97cm (5.5) FHD IPS With 2.5D Curved Edge Gorilla Glass Protection To Corning® Gorilla® Glass. The device which we received was used, without the scratch guard which we received in the box and the glass is more than enough to protect the phone from scratches.

Gionee S6 Pro Performance

The Gionee S6 Pro’s display is amazing. The display’s adjustment to the direct sunlight and brightness automation is just unbelievable. We didn’t have to struggle during a bright sunny day as S6 Pro was easily able to adapt to the light conditions. The Phone performs multi-tasking easily. The recent programs you open are kept in memory and you can resume the work/game where you left it off last. The device, although is powered by a MediaTek octa-core processor, doesn’t heat up on gaming but tends to get heated while charging. The Amigo OS which is running on top of android is just like other UI’s like of MIUI, Funtouch os. The User interface is easy to use and less confusing but it’s loaded with quite a few bloated apps which are easily removable. The phone comes with 64GB storage which cannot be expanded further. The ram present on the phone is 4GB which is managed quite well by the Gionee S6 Pro. No matter how much you push the phone it would be sure to impress you with its Ram management and optimization.

Gionee S6 Pro Camera

The camera of the phone performs well in daylight conditions but struggles in low light conditions. The Rear and front camera are capable of shooting Videos in HD. The rear camera offers an option of using it as a manual camera where you can set the exposure, focus and white balance. The Selfie camera is just amazing, it perfectly captures the colors and skin tone. The selfie camera is powered by screen flash and no led flash is present on the front. Selfie camera has some great camera modes which are great for selfie lovers. The selfie camera has beautification mode as well which most of the smartphone are offering these days but then a better version which enhances the overall selfie experience.

Gionee S6 Pro Battery And Reception

The most amazing thing about this phone apart from selfie camera, ram is the battery. The phone on an average is able to survive a day on a single charge. When we tested the device, we used it for few calls, browsing, 4G mobile data on throughout and some music. The phone was able to survive the day and still was left with some juice. This was on nonbattery optimized mode if you need more battery life then compromising some part of performance then you can use the inbuilt battery saver modes which are sure to amaze you. The battery can go up to 36hours on a single charge with battery saver mode. The phone supports Volte and is compitable with the New Jio services . The reception on the phone is decent and performs well. Although at times the calls drops for some strange reasons and the network receptotions goes off and you need to use flight mode on and off to bring back the signals but that is again subjective and area specific and doesnt happens all the time.

Price and Availability

The Gionee S6 Pro is priced at Rs.24999/- which is quite pricey when there are phones like Moto G4 Plus which are offering similar kind of features and specification but again performance, camera and battery backup justify the price for the phone. Gionee S6 Pro would be available through online and offline modes so you can decide where you want to purchase this phone from.

The Phone is great in terms of specifications and performance the only thing which worries is the price. The phone is able to handle the tasks smoothly and we even did some video editing on the phone and it performed really well. The battery life is really good, It can survive a day on a single charge with some juice left to do much more. The phone is bloated with apps and thankfully they are removable. The best part is phone doesn’t gets heated up soon even if heavy task are performed.
