LAVA PIXEL V1 THE NEXT ANDROID ONE. IS IT WORTH A BUY(Rs.11350)??
Google introduced its Android One line of phones in collaboration with INDIAN manufacturers like Micromax , spice and Karbonn last year at its I/O. ANDROID ONE hasn’t been a hit, yet Google is trying to publicise it into the market to provide more affordable devices to the crowd of nations like INDIA at a considerably lower price. Recently another manufacturer from INDIA “LAVA” launched its own Android One in collaboration with Google named the LAVA Pixel V1.
Like other android one devices this is also a low budget offering and can challenge the likes of handsets like the Motorola Moto G(3rd gen) and the XIAOMI Mi4i.
DISPLAY
The device packs a huge 5.5 inch 720 X1280p HD display resulting into a pixel density of 267 ppi. It won’t be the best display you would find but the price bracket at which the device is being offered you can’t ask for more . LAVA says PIXEL V1 is 5.5 inch display into a body of a phone hence handling the phone with one hand would be easy . LAVA claims the device has a 76.3% screen-to-body ratio. A DRAGON TAIL glass protects the phone from an unfortunate fall.
SIM and CONNECTIVITY
PIXEL V1 is a dual sim device with both the slots having a micro SIM support .However 4G is absent so you are stuck with only 3G connectivity.
PERFROMANCE
A 1.3 Ghz quad-core processor drives the phone with a large 2GB DDR3 RAM on board . MALI 400 GPU handles the graphics department. It isn’t the best offering but will take you through your daily tasks quite easily.
OS & SOFTWARE
Pixel V1 runs on the latest android 5.1.1 lollipop with a stock android build ensuring a lag free experience. As it is a Android One device you get a surety of updates from Google for next 2 years. Yeah that means good news. Android M will surely reach this phone and much faster as compared to other devices. It will get updates immediately after google’s own NEXUS line of phones.
MEMORY
None of the phones in a price bracket of around Rs.11000 is offering a ROM of over 16GB but LAVA has changed the game by offering a 32GB of onboard storage with a microSd slot expansion up to 32 GB. So media lovers it will be a treat for you.
CAMERA
The device has a 8MP rear camera incremented to 13MP using software enhancement. f2.0 aperture ensures adequate light intake for better image quality. The 5P LARGAN LENS along with the blue glass filter ensures you have a image with enhanced clarity .It shoots video at 1080p FULLHD. The front camera is a 5MP sensor enhanced to 8MP using software optimisation.
BATTERY
The device packs a 2650 mAh battery which would be enough to run the device for a whole day as it is to power just a 720p screen.
